Weekend fun

I participated in the Allcraftz Cybercrop last weekend which was a lot of fun, we had a theme of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The challenges were really cool.

There were 3 different challengs,

1. Brown and Blue only LO,

2. R.A.I.N.B.O.W Challenge, choose elements that correspond to those letters ie. R = Red or Rhinestones etc,

3. was to create a fan from the template.

All the girls did a great job. I only got one challenge done as I spent most of the weekend with Mick. He even had a Monday RDO, which was cool, but also bah in a way as I could have done the challenges while he was at work.. AH well!! I would rather be with him than scrapping alone lol. We spent pretty much all weekend either chilling or in the garden. Was a really good weekend. I'll leave you with a picture of my Lo and some of Michael and I out in the Garden...

I will be spending some time on the forum purple scraps this weekend for their Cyber Challenge. Allcraftz is sponsoring the challenges.

So Sad

This is so sad. It is a story of a precious little girl who was abused until she died. There are different versions of this story, all fighting to be the one that is right, but in the end who cares which one is right, this poor little girl died. No amount of 'right fighting' will bring her back.
I post this one month from the 28th of April, as I was not aware of her day.

These are things in my new yard that I am not sure about. The top one plant/weed I am thinking about getting rid of but I want to know what it is. Same goes with the Strange twiggy tree.

Late night visitor

When Michael was going to bed I heard this funny little growling noise. Michael said he thought it was a possum, I went outside and sure enough it was. Trouble was very excited that this guy was hanging around. I am wondering if this little creature has come over before and whether that is what Trouble is breaking out to try and get to.. Not that Trouble is going to be able to escape soon... We have bought a dog electric fence, especially made for troublesome dogs.. I am sure once he see's it the memories of farm life will come back to him and he just won't go near it.. Here's hoping.

I *heart* the postman

Yummy Yummy Yummy. I got yummy mail yesterday. I bought this kit from Michelle at ScrapBookit. It is so super yummy I just had to take some photos of it. I didn't do it justice but omg it is yummy. I can't wait to make something.. But What?? I am not sure what I will do with the kaiser book.. Probably a birthday book I need one of those.. Or maybe an address book, I need one of those too haha. I have seen them made into quote books, which are lovely.. but I don't use many quotes or have enough for a book of favorites LOL.. Hmm decisions, decisions, decisions!! (Don't be looking at the junk on my desk either!!)

Where is the Sydney..

 

This is a lo I created on the 14th & 15th, well really I created and had the idea on the 14th, but it took me to the 15th to stick all the bits down lol. I did this as part of the Chinese Whispers Thread on Allcraftz. The photo is taken in Geraldton, Western Australia. The Lady is looking out waiting and hoping that her son would be home soon. It is made to honor and remember the H.M.A.S Sydney. I created this Lo using Bazzil in 2 blues, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink, Chipboard letters, Embossing Powder, Paint, Opals, a Fancy Pants Stamp, some Embroidery thread and a bloody good photo :D

Australia National Scrapbooking Day!

This is one of those BIG things. Here is what is happening...

Classes on the day will include (and possibly an extra not yet listed) the following:
*Basic Grey Aspire Mini Album class- Designed by BG designer Becky Fleck, on the day run by Hannah. Details of this are listed in the store already for purchasing- an absolute bargain for items with a retail value close to $100- not to mention the learning experience for those who have not completed an item designed by an internationally well know designer. The kit includes enough items to create a complete album, with left-overs for other uses also.
*Card Class with Hannah using Daisy D's "Attic Heirlooms" collection items. The kit for this class will include enough product to make HEAPS of cards. Hannah will show you 3 new card designs which you can then use to make more using the techniques. It will also include some pre-stamped images, phrases, etc- embellishments and more. Cost of this class/kit will be approx. $10.
*Mini Album class with Sandra. Sandra will be using the fantastic Teresa Collins goodies, along with some 7 gypsies embellishments and oh so much more! Sandra is our "Celebrity Designer" for the classes on this special day. The cost of the kit is yet to be decided but we will do our best to keep it priced so those on all budget levels can participate.
*Infuse Layout with Hannah. This LO is STUNNING. Feminine with plenty of class, style and sophistication - and incoporating a range of new skills that you can use plenty of times in future. The cost of the kit will be $10-20, final costings have yet to be discussed (waiting on the specific colour cardstock we need LOL).
We have been told by BG that we should allow 2.5-3 hours for the Aspire class. Considering Sandra is also completing an album I would think her class will go for a comparable amount of time to the BG one. Both Hannah's class pieces, her LO and cards, will take much less time to complete- with fantastic results!
For those interested in doing all 4 classes you will also receive a 10% discount on your class purchases. As more details are finalised I will let you all know. All kits will be sent towards the end of May ready for you to create with on our special Allcraftz National Scrapbook Day.

Beauty is everywhere

I have done this page as a challenge for the blog We Challenge You. This is sponsored by my favorite shop Allcraftz for you.

I haven't ever done any stiching on a Lo which was part of the entry rules, so I kept it to a minimum as I didn't want to bugger it lol.

I used stamps, flowers, chipboard, grungeboard, h2o's, bazzil and chatterbox paper.

Our house..

Wow where to begin. Michael and I bought a house. We have moved out of our rental one and into our new place. We haven't unpacked yet.. We have too much stuff I fear.

It is a lovely 3 bedroom home, 1 bathroom, kitchen/dining room and lounge. It has a huge big shed for Michael and has a small garden shed as well. There is a pretty big back yard for our own veggie patch and we have even invested in some fruiting trees. I have so many hopes and dreams for this place I hope we can make it a reality.

Now that we have our own place we also have the phone on... WHOOT! Soon we are getting Broadband and then I will post on here regularly lol.

New Technique

I taught myself this ages ago, but semi forgot how to do it lol. I got a refresher course on a forum that I am on. I haven't done another one but atleast now I can remember how I made these LOL. I used Paint.NET which is a free program.

I am a bad Blogger

I haven't blogged for ages... ok.. what has been happening... I will back post so I can add photos, but here is the run down..

• I didn't scrap much. I spent alot of time talking.

• Met a cool scrapbooking pom named Zoe, we plan to meet up again
• Got to see a few of the ladies I met at the Scrapbookit Retreat
• Made lots of Makes and takes
• Bought lots - lol
  
• Went to Bundaberg for my best friends commitment ceremony (view here for pictures)
  
• Got to visit all my old mates
• Got somewhat drunk on one night
• Had a night out with a new boy (a 6 year old, lol)
  
• Went to Brisbane with Mum for an early Christmas present in late Nov-early Dec
• Stayed in the City
• Walked 700miles to a scrabook store for a free class... which nearly killed mum and I
  
• Went to a free class at Scrapbook City, had a lot of fun there, bought a lot!
  
• Ate out every night for a week
• Went to the Casino
• Entered Scrapbookit altered item comp and came in Runner up, won a lovely paper pack.
  
• Went to Murtoa for Christmas
• Got some LOVELY earrings from Michael. The Diamonds in my earings are larger than the stones in my engagement ring lol.
• Got a pretty pendant from Mick as well
• Mum gave me some yummy Scrapping stuff
• Mum also gave me an altered word - Create which I love.

I can't think of anything else atm.. I am going to post some of the things I have scrapped lately.

Back to Bundy

I went back to Bundaberg for Chon and Chrissy's Commitment Ceremony. I went for two weeks, stayed at Shannon's in Brissy for a few days on each side of the trip and also stayed at Katie's. Zoe was kind enough to board me for the week and a bit that I was in Bundy

Explosion box class Card class, this one was SOO much fun and easier to keep up with, even though we didn't make all the cards we were supposed to :)

What is wrong?

Sometimes I get so angry at our government. So angry at the people who have everything, and don't give a dam about the little people. The ones getting squashed.
I have recently join a charity group called Knit4charity, and through them I learnt of a nice man, Borge Rasmussen, who runs his own charity called Care for Street Kids, he is almost 70 and I presume his wife to be near to that age, they go out daily giving children, adults and families in need, food, clothing and blankets. They have been doing this for about 15 years. They have a group of volunteers, who drive vans around to deliver goods. A lot of this work is done out of theses people's pockets and money donated to the cause... Just recently they went for a government grant and were turned down. WHY?? These people are helping FAMILIES LIVING IN CARS FOR HEAVENS SAKES!!! What kind of world are we living in when the tribe no longer cares to help each other? Do we have any hope? Why is it more important to get that new television? Or car?
I have decided I am going to help, I am helping in the knit4charities cause. I am going to knit things for people in need. You can help too, it doesn't have to be much but something counts!! You could write to the government asking for them to donate more public taxes to helping out AUSTRALIANS in NE ED, donate all your old clothes and items through charities rather than leave them on the side of the road for the garbage collectors. A lot of charities will come and pick up gear these days, so you don't even have to go out of your way... maybe you could be like my mother and let it rattle around in the boot for a while before you donate it when you go past a drop of point lol.. Have a garage sale and before you start set a certain % that you will donate to your favorite charity.
DO something, even if it is small, it will help someone else, and you will feel terrific!

GOLD, Gold, gold

So I have mentioned all this gold talk but not been so kind as to show you the pictures.... Now the little piccy is the real size of the nugget and the larger one is so you can actually see it LOL. It is tiny, and got lost momentarily, but I wouldn't get rid of it for a second. Michael and I both love his little piece of Eureka!!

GOLD Hunting

Ever since we went to Ballarat last year in February Michael has had Gold Fever. When we still lived in Hillston there wasn't much he could do about his fever. He did buy himself a Metal Detector last year off Ebay. He used the metal detector while we were visting my long lost cousin in Pambula. I had to let him get the detector so that I could go to Pambula. I knew he would go if he could go gold hunting - interest in my Genealogy alone wasn't going to get him there lol.
Ever since moving to Victoria, Michael has been lucky enough to go gold hunting 4 or 5 times. In June he went gold hunting and I went visiting my mother in Horsham (she had just bought a house in Murtoa) he went of to Avoca and was lucky enought to actually find a small Nugget.
Last weekend we went to Avoca just over night so he could gold hunt but we didn't find anything unfortunatly.
This weekend we went and altought we didn't find any nuggets we did find small specks of gold while panning. We even bought a bucket of dirt to pan at home, so keep your fingers crossed, we might find some more yet LOL.
