Retreat Time

Michael and I drove up to Murtoa 2 Saturdays ago. Michael left me at mum's so we could drive to the retreat together.

Had an absolute blast with the girls off my table, they were fantastic! The hostess, Michelle, who I have know for many years online, was really different this year. Welcomed us but then pretty much ignored us. I am not sure if we did something wrong, but it was really disconcerting, even a member of her DT was not the same as she was last year. Michelle's husband on the other hand was just as friendly as I remembered and we had a couple of really good chats. He's a hard worked like Michael and also goes looking for gold like Mick.
This year, I took NO photos to the retreat to scrap, my goal was atc's and Cards. Did no Cards (well one in class), and about 20 ATC's. Did however do 2 Lo's which I was amazed about as I wasn't going to do any this year. Last year I was going to do Lo's only and only did one haha.

This was our photo swap. The idea, put 3 photos on a desk face down, then when everyone had done that. Go and pick a pile of someone else's photos and scrap them. Above was the page I made for Julie. I was lucky as I didn't bring any photos (as I wasn't going to scrapbook), but mum had the 20 free ones I had picked up for her at Scrappit. Below is the second LO I did, it was for Rosanne, she loved the one I did for Julie, and asked me to scrap her one lol. Her's is blue as she wanted the water paper to be on the page.

Card making madness

As some of you will know there is a card drive for Victorian farmers, which will be given out in Christmas hampers for them to give away to their friends and families when they need a card. I posted it as a topic, so if you want to have a read here it is... Rak Victorian Farmers. The Christmas cards I have made, may go to the actual farmers, or to my friends lol, will have to find out if she needs any Christmas ones ;)

	This is a card for a male, not really happy with it. Just never went the way I wanted lol.
	I like this card. It is cute. Well the stamps are hehe. This is for a child.
	To toot my own horn I really like this card hehe. I think I did a pretty good job :D Again, the stamps are just so cute, how could you not do a good job?
	This card I made after watching a demo at Roz's online SU party. I used 2 new embossing folders, new BG paper and new sentiment stamp that I got from the lovely Ebony. The rose stamp is one I have had for a year or so, love it :)
	This one is similar to the above, but instead of the embossing folder I used a text stamp, which is more like Roz's one. I made 2 like this.
	I like this Christmas card. The photo doesn't show it right, but where the red ends on the left the card itself is finished (the white you see after is the paper I took the photo on). When it opens the green circle stays on the bottom. I used my new embossing border file on this card. Made 3 of these.
	This card I made using a cricut cut file, my new embossing file, 3 new stamps and a sentiments stamp.

August Goodies

   My prize pack came from Ebony 2 days ago. I was so super excited when I got them.. Well I still am!! It was so much fun opening it and "oooohing and ahhing" This is pack two. My first pack was a cuttlebug. Which I have totally LOVED using. Now I have even more folders to use WHOOT!!

This is one of the limited edition paper packs from Daisy Bucket. It is super cute. I accidentally forgot to take a photo of the rubons but if you look at one of the pack photos up the top there is a little peak of it ;)

Michael was really sick this weekend so I got a little bit of scrapping done, but spent a lot of time looking after him. Also the scrap room is right next to the toilet, so I didn't really want to be there with Michael throwing up once an hour every hour on Saturday. I have made 2 cards though out of some of the new stuff.
I have also packaged up a COM for Anna (sorry it is so late!!) Been working on my next COM, and thinking about WOM that I owe and the newest WOM swap.. How have I gotten so far behind?? I have an ATC swap due, and another that I want to join, and some others that are overdue.. Time to pull the finger out I think ;)

August Cyber Crop

Ok the Cyber Crop this month was about Travel, so a great way to use up some of those holiday photos!! I got 3 out of 4 done which I think is really good. The holiday pal one, is of Zoe, Declan and me before I left Bundy last October. I really liked this Lo, it won a voucher too, not because I was the best, but because no one else entered that category, so yeah.

This is my OTP entry, it is a canvas and it is now hanging in our loungeroom, I wanted something that matched the walls a little, and as it turns out the dark orange is actually the same orange that is here in the lounge lol. I really hate the colour in our lounge as it seems to eat the light, but looks ok in moderation lol.

This is my card. It is acetate stamped and then coloured. I couldn't find vellum tape, or think of any way of holding it down so now it has a frame which is the tape showing through :(

Last but not least is my Chinese Whisper. It is Trouble sleeping on his new (well was new) mattress. It was his makeshift kennel a table, blanket, pallet and mattress :)

Recent Scraps

I made this card as part of a weekend challenge from the lovely Megan, I made this card for a COTW for the Cute Stamper's Group/Mailing list, as I owed a card to Joy. The COTW had to be 'Ice Magic', "Use any stamp of your choice that is not usually related to cold weather e.g. a butterfly or a flower. Give your card creation some "ice magic". Use silver foil or gray, pale blue and white coloured card, add some white or silver glitter and any other embellishment to give your stamped image some "ice magic"" Megan's challenge was to use items that were available in the AC4Y store, didn't have to be bought there, but definitely had to be in the store. I was naughty though and used household foil, which Ebony doesn't actually sell lol. So I combined two challenges to get one card :D

This LO I did for the Purplescraps Cyber Crop, the Challenge was to create any Lo with a movie Quote and also some Chipboard. I took the quote from Dumb and Dumberer. It features our old Washing Machine and also our brand new one that we bought last Sunday.

Last weekend was also the AC4Y Cyber Crop. There were lots of great challenges, but I only achieved two. Check out the gallery to see all the neat work done. I did the Card sketch and also the lo Sketch. I am not too sure about the card LOL, it is way brighter than I am used to haha, but I really like my take on the Lo Sketch. I have used my Cuttlebug in both challenges. I really love that little machine.

One of my best friends lost her mother to cancer. I feel really sad about her passing. It must be so hard.
I made this card.

Another friend of many years lost her dad 2 weeks before. I made a card then too.

I hope that I don't have to make any more cards like the above two!

A few weeks of happy mail

I have been so spoilt over the last couple of weeks, not only have I won a couple of fantastic prizes. But the girls on the Allcraftz Forum have been sending me Raks (Random Act of Kindness) as part of our monthly Rak list.
I have gotten a lovely rak from Anna, Sharon, Cherie, Ruby and Avie.
I wish I had taken photos of all my goodies now so I could share them (actually you can see a little of Sharon's great little note book in the photo with the HUGE flowers) I really love what everyone has sent me. It is so great to open up mail with yummy goodies in it. Big thanks to Ruby for the DST! You have no idea how much I needed it :)
Avie 'owed' me a COM (Colour of the Month) for the Feb/March COM. But we had held off her sending it as she wanted to send us a house warming gift. Avie had been running behind on sending it but sent it on Thursday. To my delight I opened the door to receive a PIZZA box lol, I thought it must have been an order, but no it was my goodies from Avie.
There was a lot of awesome scrapping gear, yummy herbs and two (TWO) beautiful wind chimes!!! The wind chimes took a bit to get up, (the heaviest one falling down, and having me {stupidly} sticking my foot out to 'catch' it.. which hurt lol).

I can't wait to plant my herbs!! I have also gotten some seeds off of Bubblefrog in a WW (wishing well) and also I think I got some from LouLou for a COM/WOM (Word of the month). If I didn't get seeds I know LouLou sent me some AWESOME gloves which I like using while I am out gardening.

Mate!!! I have had the best time ANSD was the best event ever!! The top of ALL Internet parties, heck the top of all REAL parties!! I have so much to tell, I don't know where to start!!!! I am going to do a post about ANSD tomorrow (well that would be later today) but here is the Icing, the Crème Da La Crème.

THAT'S ME~!~ I just sat dumbfounded, literally. Mouth open wide as could be, and for the first time in my life SILENT.. Well apart from the incoherent aaahh hahah oohoh hahah gaahh sounds coming out of my wide open mouth.

I can't thank Ebony enough!! This is such a wonderful prize! It is a wonderful honour.  Thank you Allcraftz! She is so naughty, because she told us all there would be prizes and what they were, the raffles etc, she mentioned that there would be a 'kindness' one or something along those lines, but she said prize, not MOTHER OF ALL PRIZES!

I found this really cool site yesterday, it has so much SCRAPPING info on it, links to publication calls, Dt calls, competitions, retreats, challenges, sales.. pretty much everything scrapping that us Aussies can join in on. If you know of an event, you just email the lovely Gabbie. She will do her bit, and get it on the site for you.

As for the competitions, the have links to other off site competitions, but they are also holding somen themselves. They held one yesterday for these YUMMY stamps... Donated by Lime Tart. Aren't they cool?? To enter all you had to do was leave a message on Aussie Scrapbooking's blog... Well some lucky so and so won them and... ok ok the so and so was ME :O how cool!!! I am really really excited. I don't often win anything, so I am totally stoked. Today's competition entry requires you to spread the love for Aussie Scrapbooking. This is my entry for the Challenge Monochromatic on white at Purplescraps forum. This month their cyber crop is sponsored by Allcraftz. So I thought I would pop over and have a go. On Friday night I won a $25 voucher to spend at Allcraftz, so that is really cool! It is the first thing I have won at Allcraftz. I have a second challenge I want to do, but I am not sure when the entries have to be in.. Also the Purplescraps is down at the moment. Anyhow hope your having a good Sunday!!

Ok well when the site came down I didn't have the instructions, and we were supposed to have a flower (or more) on this lo, so I had to change it. I think I like it better now.. Notice how much MORE dodgy the second photo is... I don't think I will EVER be good at taking photos of my lo's

This was also done as one of the challenges. You had to follow a sketch, and although you could 'change' it around a little, I didn't do so, apart from turn the actual sketch around. I will add the sketch if I can find it.
