In Training :)

Things are finally happening for my Ride to Conquer Cancer, ride.
I have joined up a local (and awesome) riding group (Manor Lakes Cycle Group). Through our pretty wonderful council and the help of the ML-Cycle Group, Wheel Women was able to offer 5 or 6 lessons, ranging from how to change a tire, bike safety to how to ride in a group. All very important things for a future long distance rider to learn. The timing couldn't be better. First lesson was last week and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was advised (as I did already know) to put my seat up higher. It feels weird but I've put it up quite a bit lol.

ML-Cycle Group has regular rides, so hopefully a few more will pop up now that there are 15 odd new people involved in this group through the connection with Wheel Women.
Today I went for a ride with 2 fellow ML-CG's, I ended up cutting my ride shorter(about 4 kms) as it was closer to my house. Had a great time and was glad I kept up pretty well. Was tired towards the end haha.

I haven't been very actively fundraising. I really need to get back out there, see about doing something in the community. Time is flying!
Please consider sponsoring me :) Thank you

Long time no speak

So it seems a really really long time has gone by without a blog post. Where to start?
I was going to come and blog in mid 2012 when I was lucky enough to meet Tim Holtz and do one of his classes here in Australia. I had so much fun and it's something I often look back and smile about. Somehow I never found the time to blog (actually my stupid blogger program stopped working and I HATE using the site to blog).

I posted many a meal here that I ate while doing the CSIRO diet, I ended up going off that, and putting back on most of my weight. Over the last 2 years I've done a mixture of diets/eating styles and am currently doing my own thing, but enjoying recipes from Symply Too Good To Be True (Annette Sym) and also 12WBT, I also get inspiration from Skinny Taste and Slender Kitchen. I am down 56kgs.

Along with the losing weight I've also been getting healthier. I go to the gym most days and even participate in the local Parkrun. I really love the event and I recommend it to everyone! It's a free 5km timed event, and best of all you don't have to run! You can walk, crawl or run :) The kids can be involved and even your dogs!

I haven't been that active in the garden in the last 6-12 months, I had a poor result with my spring plantings last year (due to going away for several weeks at a time in Aug, Sept and Nov), so I ended up with bought seedlings, but then I had friends come and stay for a 'couple of weeks' which turned into 5 months, and somehow routine and things got turned around and I didn't head out to the garden much.

Craft also suffered having people stay, as we only have a small house, I had to pack away my craft table so for about 5 months I didn't get anything done, unless I went away. I'm back on crafting though, and I've been having a lot of fun with that lately. I recently did a "Supplies on Hand" course with May, which I learnt some new things and can't wait to try out.

In January next year I'm heading off with my mother and one of my bestest friends for a craft cruise! We're going on the Voyager of the Seas with Rachel Greig from Darkroom Door! I am so excited I can't wait!!

OK that's enough blathering for me! I will be back soon and post some of what I've been up to. I promise not to be a stranger :D

Travel Time

CIMG7625So today’s the day I fly up to Brisbane. I have all my clothes organised, got all my bits and bobs ready. I have some new clothes to take with me. I’ve put the photos here. (Mostly so my mum can check them out LOL).

I hope I haven’t forgotten anything.. Really all I need is my bank card and my passport, but still, you just know you’re going to forget something hahah.

I’ll be up in Brissy until the 31st Oct or 1st of Nov, then we fly out to Malaysia, arriving at some early hour. We then catch another flight to Thailand a couple of hours CIMG7639later. We are there until the 12th then we fly back to Malaysia stay two nights and leave and get back to Brisbane on the 14th of Nov. I stay in Brissy until the morning of the 16th and then I fly home :)

While I am away hope that I can update my blog often for all you that follow along. Hope you all get lots of scrapping done so I have heaps of inspiration for when I bring home TONS of photos that must get scrapped LOL

Friday Night Renos

Just a quick update. Michael and I watched a movie tonight (Knowing) then we decided 10pm was a great time to do the undercoat :o) We’ve done the cutting in of the undercoat, now just need to do the rest of the area. He’s gone to bed, work in the morning, but I’m feeling inspired. I might just do the rest of the Undercoat by myself :o)

One World One Heart

I am sorry I didn't draw this earlier, with all that has been going on in our country it slipped my mind. It has been the worst week I think in Australia's history. So many sad stories and some really good ones too, no matter which I hear I tend to cry. I gave a donation of $100 last night, it is so small, but every dollar helps. I ask you if you haven't given please consider it. http://redcross.org.au/

Thank you to everyone that entered and checked out my blog!! With the help of Random.org, we have a winner. Drumroll... Bleubeard and Elizabeth

I hope you will enjoy the atcs!!

Spring CC

ATC's Cyber crop time again. I only completed two out of the four Challenges. My back was just too sore to sit and do long projects. These are my atcs.

tin1 tin2 tin3

The tin was the OTP. It's a little shiny as it has been coated in modge podge. I really wanted to complete a challenge over at Purple scraps as it looked like lots of fun. But alas the back didn't want to.

Sitting at my desk is really hurting, but standing for shortish periods of time has been ok. The only problem is it does feel ok, then once I have finished (over doing myself) my back KILLS! One period of 'overdoing' was cleaning down our fence of all this ivy creeper and old pieces of wood (and an old clothes line lol) That night boy my back wasn't pleased!

Our house..

Wow where to begin. Michael and I bought a house. We have moved out of our rental one and into our new place. We haven't unpacked yet.. We have too much stuff I fear.

Back patio

It is a lovely 3 bedroom home, 1 bathroom, kitchen/dining room and lounge. It has a huge big shed for Michael and has a small garden shed as well. There is a pretty big back yard for our own veggie patch and we have even invested in some fruiting trees. I have so many hopes and dreams for this place I hope we can make it a reality.

Now that we have our own place we also have the phone on... WHOOT! Soon we are getting Broadband and then I will post on here regularly lol.

Lifes busy

Moving to Melbourne has been awesome!! We love it here, we do miss the farm at times, but the lifestyle here is so much better. It no longer takes one and a half hours to get to the store because you have to drive 109Kms. We can drive 5 Mins and be there and spend an hour SHOPPING lol. We love it!! There are so many specials around here, cheap bread, roast chickens for $4 ea.. everything is great!! Lpg is only about .47c/Lt here where as in Hillston it was like .90c/Lt

Here is a couple of photos I took down at the beach the other day.. SOMETHING I missed heaps living in the desert!!
